We went there as a group of 8 for beers and also for dinner. Their menu is somewhat limited, but this is not a restaurant, more like a pub with a decent menu (for a pub). Most of us tried their traditional liver dish. It was surprisingly good! As for the beers, we mostly drank Löwenbräu. My German friend explained to me that this is a seasonal beer for the Oktober Fest and he thought it was pretty nice that they had it there. Service, was OK, but we had to try to get the waitress' attention to have our beers refilled. Decorations around the place are also interesting.
If you are looking for gourmet food in a fine dining environment, this is not what you want. If you are looking for great traditional foods, served in a traditional environment this is the place to go. The restaurant is not particularly large inside so it can be very cozy. Having been a regular traveller to Bad Nauheim over the past 15 or so years, this is a favourite restaurant for a great down to earth dinner at a reasonable price.
The atmosphere is typical German. The waitresses speak English and German, and are helpful in making meal suggestions. The food is top drawer. The beer, of course, is wonderful. The whole staff made my wife and me feel like family.
