"The back of the restaurant is the pier where the trawlers land so that it can not get more fresh than that! I'm here on some occasions now and I'm a big fan of fish soup! All fresh. The fish and the veggies."

The last evening of our annual winter holiday in Cuxland in 2017 had begun, and from the refrigerator in the chic holiday home we jumped out a shiny void. We were invited for lunch by regular diners of this place, who claimed that the restaurant has the best fish dishes in town. Their claim was not far from truth. I truly enjoyed my choice which was Schollen filets stuffed with smoked salmon and north sea shrimps. The Schollen was fresh and tasty. I didn't even need any salt, pepper or sauce to have it with. The portion size was generous two big filets, one big slice of smoked salmon, a spoonful of shrimps , accompanied by long grain wild rice (or you can ask for fried potatoes the german way or French fries and dill sauce. The dish is certainly value for money (16€ . Services were excellent fast, friendly, efficient. The interior is cosy and...

Dropped in for a late lunch before catching a train out. We spent a very pleasant hour or so, in a nice, friendly and colloquial atmosphere. Food was great, herrings tasty and fresh, the crab soup delightful. Interesting location as well. Surely will come back next time I'm in town.

Overall, it looks like a quantum for seniors. Smell's old death everywhere, open toilets near the tables, cheap and fat food super expensive. Super disappointed by the reviews of others, this is a total demolition.
