I stayed at the hostel above for some days at Christmas, I know it's been a long while and I should have done my review earlier, but anyway, I just want to say I miss the time I spent and the people I met...at both the hostel and the bar. I met so many nice local people and tourists over there during my stay, we had so much fun together, I felt like I belong there, and for some reason I had (and still have) a huge crush on a bartender that worked there, we are friends on Facebook but he doesn't know how special he is to me, he never will know. the community is one of my favourite places in köln. it is a spacious room divided into different sections all tastefully decorated in different styles. in front there are couches, sessel and coffee tables that create a cozy living room atmosphere. the bar itself is beautifully designed with a wood surface. opposite the bar there is an old camper van with a surfboard on top and the DJ-Desk right next to it. the people also love the ping pong table on the back as it is a good opportunity to spend their evening playing a game while they meet people. once in the week on Wednesday they have an evening called mundolingo, where people come to practice and make new friends. like any other night is...
It was the busiest bar in the area by far. Technically it's a hostel bar but everyone I spoke to were locals and didn't seem to know that! It's really big, lots of seating and table options, even outside. Drinks were dirt cheap, especially beer,...atmosphere was awesome, there are kind of divided areas so it would be good for a group gathering. Weird semi VIP area, just stay to the main room. Staff was sort of unfriendly but whatever. Good atmosphere and good, friendly mixed crowd!
I was recently in the hostel and this bar was visited every day neatly. they have some amazing activities like singing along, good drinks - my favorite is the ipa. and that was also good. the seating area has large windows so that they feel one with the city when they have a drink.
