Our small group of three was looking forward to a late lunch at Dine Divine based on all the previous reviews but we were very disappointed with our meal.We were seated at a table right by the fire which was lovely. We ordered our meals and drinks whereby the young waiter asked if we wanted our drinks to come out with our meal - very strange question. I ordered a Southern Comfort with dry ginger ale and what a circus it was to get that. The waiter had no idea what I had asked for, came back to ask again and finally a lovely lady came out to check what I wanted. We used to visit this Restaurant few years ago when it was Brother John owned by delightful lady Val & husband but has since sold out to new people and also a change in name of business BUT the Devonshire Tea was to die for. The scones were puffy, home made jams by owner's wife and fresh cream with piping hot chocolate and coffees to compliment it all with. The interior has been cleared out of lots of the clutter we always knew of and with new management it has a different style but to be fair, Val had her own elegant style too. Misty Saturday afternoon on the mountain, and we were in the mood for some tea and scones. Stumbled upon Dine Divine and they were absolutely lovely scones, my partner had an excellent hot chocolate and basically it was exactly what we were looking for. Friendly efficient staff too. Will definitely come back for a dinner some time soon.
Ended up here after an aborted attempt for a coffee and cake elsewhere in the afternoon and so pleased we ended up here.We only stopped for a tea and scones and the scones were probably the best in a long time. My family took me to Dine Divine for afternoon Tea & scones on Mothers Day. Such a lovely setting in a old Church. You get 2 huge scones with cream & Jam of your choice & a pot of Tea each. What a wonderful place to spend mothers day. Will return again
lovely place to bump into on a Sunday afternoon drive, great service, lovely atmosphere, great position, must try and then go for a walk along the street and visit some very lovely shops for a browse and try some new treats. very welcoming place
We came in for tea and scones after finding most places in Sassafras too crowded. Wonderful ambience, prompt service, and delicious fluffy scones and good quality tea. Will definitely come back next time we are up Mt Dandenong. Worth a visit.
Three of us thought we were in for a treat, but the meal was very ordinary. A good description would be "pub food". However the cakes after our main course, were delicious, but were not enough to entice us to visit again. Book a table now
