On contrary to the negative reviews, the food here is legitimately authentic. Not Americanized like most are familiar with. If you are expecting the food you get from other Hispanic restaurants, this is the wrong place for you and your expectations are misaligned to real food. My family meets in Baldwin for lunch or dinner often, The Phoenix was closed so we thought we would try this Mexican restaurant. Sadly, the food was terrible, all of it. I had Carne Asada, the steak was all fat and had no seasoning, I could barely cut it. My dog enjoyed it as I wrapped it up to take home. Others in my party of 5 had quesadillas and chimichangas, also so bad no one finished their food. I will never go back to this place. If this place is great to locals then you need to experience more Mexican restaurants. Besides not getting what we wanted, like as simple as guacamole, soup and then being asked to not have lettuce, if we weren’t going to eat. Very bland food, just room temp. At best. Felt like we were a bounden to the server to be there. No welcome feeling at all. And not much enthusiasm when we went to pay to thank us. Sure did not feel welcome to come back.
Once again another perfect meal at North Meets South! The food is so amazing here. I’ve never had a bad meal here! Delicious!!
