Love this place! Beautiful experience through and through. The BEST pasta ever! So fresh and perfectly cooked. I love their Fettuccine Ala Carbonara, it's perfect if you're wanting comfort food. If you're a salmon lover, theirs is to die for! It's perfectly crisp on the outside and not overdone on the inside and it's served with a lemon butter sauce that's delicious. We also love their bread, delicious and fresh whether it's their Foccaccia which we've ordered on several occasions or their free bread they deliver to the table, both are amazing. My wife and I had some excellent meals at La Taverna. Today, we stopped by to purchase a gift card, and the manager, Randy, assisted us. I accidentally left my credit card behind, and I was truly impressed when the manager ran after me to return it. Even more surprising was that I had just been telling my wife how dedicated and enthusiastic the manager was in providing service during our dining experience. To have him chase after me with my card was quite a surprise! Since we live just a block away from the restaurant, it’s wonderful to know that we have such great Italian food and attentive management so close to home. Bravo!
A solid choice for Italian cuisine in Houston. My tagliatelle with lobster was cooked al dente, and the lobster was wonderfully sweet. However, the lobster bisque sauce had more of a tomato sauce flavor than I expected. I was especially impressed by the lasagna; it reminded me of the versions found in northern Italy, rich in béchamel and lighter on the tomatoes, allowing the flavors to shine through. It’s likely the best lasagna in Houston. The carbonara was also delicious.
At first, it was a rough start. I was seated and ten minutes pasted and no one came to my table. I asked the hostess should I move to get service, she immediately made them aware of the situation. I had a server, service, food, drink... very quickly and then everyone kept checking on me. The food Was amazing and the staff very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.
