I have eaten at this restaurant before in the food court of Paramount Centre at the top end of Collins Street. However today was different.The "self serve" bar is almost as good as the others there, however they have upped their price to $8.90 a dish which is around $1 more than the others. That's ok but they've also cut the range of food back. You can get a Japanese pancake but it is hard to know what is in it other than some cabbage and white stuff. Then you've got some crispy chicken stuff and mince meat. The mince was great but the overall choice poor.The food was also very greasy. When I first arrived, I didn’t expect much from this place given its location (I don’t expect much from food courts); I was simply looking for somewhere to have a quick lunch on my way to a meeting. <br/ <br/ I got myself a chicken katsu bento box (pictured) and prepared myself for what I thought would be something unpleasant. I was wrong, the service was quick, the portions I believe were generous for the price, it wasn’t at all greasy, and the chicken was lean and fresh.<br/ <br/ I’ll most definitely be back here if I feel like grabbing a bite away from my office.
Donburi BBQ is a cozy restaurant stall located on the ground floor food court of the Paramount building, at the corner of Exhibition and Bourke Streets in Melbourne. The menu features a delightful mix of Korean and Japanese cuisine. While it may look like a typical food court vendor, don’t be deceived by its appearance. The food is of good quality and offered at very competitive prices.
Had lunch here today, self service bar, plates are smaller than average but the food is excellent, loved the spicy pork and the bbq beef.. Noodles were not the best but the rest of the food more than makes up for this. Would happily eat here again.

Good for Takeaway. Fried chicken to your door!I was surprised they delivered out to North Fitzroy.Was worried it would be soggy by the time it was delivered but it was still nice and crispy.I'll order again!
The self-serve lunch spot is decent. Some dishes can be a bit oily, but the fried chicken is quite delicious. I also appreciated the unique options like seaweed rice and kimchi rice.
Ordered the chicken katsu on a work break. The chicken was cooked perfectly and very crispy. Great mixture of everything. I'd recommend for a quick feed.
My boyfriend and I are big fans of Japanese and Korean cuisine, so when we saw that Donburi was available for delivery on Menulog, we were thrilled.
