I know I wrote a review just a couple of months ago, and it's not often I rave about a place but Don Camillo is really worth it...not that it looks like they need the extra advertising. They have a winning formula starting with great service, great food and wonderful atmosphere and importantly its' consistent. We've been a half dozen times now and always the same - staff are run off their feet but have time for you all the same. The food is great value with well prepared Italian dishes and none of what I'd call the bog standard low end Italian fare you so often see.Don Camillo is a bit out of the way from town centre ( not far from the train station though) but it's a testament to the qualit...
Good friends recommended this colourful and busting Italian eatery to us, though some years since they were here it was a risk....we needn't have worried, it was excellent. Within minutes of arriving the place was full of locals and not a tourist in sight - a good sign.The menu was diverse with an interesting and different selection of choices for the risottos, pastas and pizzas than usually found in Italian restaurants. Our table had a selection of all these dishes - the pizza dough was perfect, the pastas home made and all were fresh, well prepared , and utterly delicious. The wine list varied and moderately priced with something for most palattes. We finished with gelato what else! Overal...
We arrived without a reservation but they managed to still accommodate us in the hour that a table was available before the booked guests would arrive. Service was dedicated despite all the staff being pushed hard - it seems their standard mode of operating, while very busy, no real stress in the air. The pastas ordered arrived within minutes, and the half portions that were offered for the kids were plenty. The kind of restaurant and an experience that makes you leave with a refined satisfied smile on your face.
This restaurant is worth searching out it is not in your usual town center location.But always seems to be very busy and a reservation is recommended so as not to be disappointed although we did see them squeeze another table in the night we were there and certainly did two covers on some tables during the evening .Wonderful atmosphere,buzzing and the food was equally lovely all very fresh and deliciously tasting with in house pastas and the pizzas looked equally great.Well worth a visit if in town

This is such a lively restaurant and good food. It is a full-on experience, somewhat theatrical! We went with friends and I fell in love with it. Husband paid the bill and was less enthusiastic after that - he felt it was quite expensive. Buy hey, it's often full, and that says a lot. Id go again any time!
I found myself in the heart of Naples with the friendly boss and the efficient waitress. The Pizza truly Neapolitan and a special rosé wine. To finish with a tiramisu which perfume stuck in mouth several days.
Excellent pizza. Very fast service. Desserts too. Servers and waitresses were pleasant and smiling despite the mask. We all ate well. We will return and we recommend this restaurant.
We loved this friendly busy Italian restaurant. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was excellent. It has a casual but elegant atmosphere. Highly recommend.
