Took my mom here, it used to be her high school joint. It has gone downhill in service and food quality. In fact, both locations in Whittier and Santa Fe Springs are terrible. We went to the one in Whittier and ordered a double cheeseburger burger to split and made it a large, which we gladly paid for. It came out to over $21!! We checked our receipt and they also charged us a $0.70 service fee. Meaning just to hand you the food over the counter. Carl’s Jr. does the exact same thing for free. Food is good. Prices are decent. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid with my parents but as adult I stop by here and then. The only issue I have is the drive thru. I usually stick with their chicken nachos and I always ask for two salsa on the side. It’s whole meal, I need enough salsa and they be stingy af all the time. Some times I’ll drive off and she won’t give me any even tho I asked. Other times I clearly ask for two please and she’ll only hand over one. Like it’s just salsa. Found this Douglas Hamburger location in Whittier by mistake as we drove by... of course we had to stop! The restaurant brings back memories and the ambiance is great! The employee was friendly and helpful, they bring the food to your table. The food was delicious as well... We got breakfast, chicken strips, and the hamburger combo! I would recommend this Douglas location for sure... I'll be back for sure... even though I live in Anaheim! Caution: they take a while to make and prepare the food as it's fresh! We order at 10:07am got the food at 10:31am
The food is overpriced, the service is poor, and the staff is unfriendly. The place feels rundown, and it took 25 minutes to prepare average burgers and fries for $29. I would never return to this establishment. If the staff doesn't enjoy working there, they should consider finding a different job. Treating customers this way is completely disrespectful. I was tempted to leave, but I had already paid upfront, so I had no choice but to wait. This was my first and last visit, and I do not recommend it at all.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and I have to say the burgers are fantastic! The place is very clean, but the only issue I encountered was that the employees in the back were quite loud, which made it difficult for me to place my order. Other than that, the experience was great! Food: 5/5.
The service was terrible; I didn't receive the correct order. When I called to complain, the woman on the phone insisted that they had given me the right order. If I hadn't been in such a hurry, I would have gone back to get my money refunded! Food rating: 1/5.
