Overall, the service was good and so was the udon. The atmosphere was cute and homey but unfortunately, at the end of the day, this place was a miss for me. The whole restaurant smelled of old oil the instant I walked in. However, I love tempura so I still got it to try. I should have taken the hint. I got the udon and tempura mixed combo and the batter on the tempura had a weird taste which I think is because it was fried in old oil. Having lived in Japan for a year, this place brings back the vibes and the atmosphere of eating at a Japanese restaurant. The moment I walked in, the decor, the smell, the vibe, the only thing missing was the size (Japanese restaurants tend to be incredibly small because land is a luxury there. The food was good, I was not expecting amazing blow your mind food that's not what this place is, but it tasted familiar, it tasted like the place I called home for a whole year. It tasted like that town I used to live, the town by the ocean. I definitely recommend you try this place, if you are feeling nostalgic for Japan.
Loved this place! Didn't know it was Japanese food until we looked it up. Lol. The tonkatsu curry was excellent! The katsu was fried perfectly and the meat was tender and melted in your mouth!
