Despite living close by, I hadn 't been to this pub for many years. Recently due to my usual spot being closed I decided to give it a try. I was blown away by the really excellent cooking and lovely service and raved about it to my wife. Last night we went back there for dinner. It was Monday night and we were the only two customers. The waitress was sweet but a little on the ditzy side, forgetting a drinks order for about 15 minutes and then going to ask a question about desserts to the kitchen and not coming out for ten minutes till we had to go and ask them ourselves through the hatch. The food (that we ate was good but the main issue was that literally six items that we tried to order we...

The DOC used to be the go to pub around here and after some poor moments I would say it was back and better than ever. The menu is well thought out, with proper pub classics but done very well. A particular highlight was my wife 's Chicken and Ham pie, lovely big chunks of tender meat in a good, flaky pastry. It 's good cooking and everything was done with considerable care and detail. Staff were very welcoming, service was spot on and the wine list is also worth visiting. All told, great meal and experience, glad our local is back on top form but would also be worth a trip rom further away.

Unfortunately it was a poor experience because: 1. My daughters roast beef was served with a NAIL inside. We pointed it out and was removed. 2. However, we were charged for the same and even charged a service fee. Normally when you serve any food with any hairs, flies and NAILS you profusely apologise and deduct those dishes from any final bill. This was not done. Very poor management. JS

Our first family visit here as we had been to an art festival nearby. Super friendly welcome for two aged parents whilst we waited for the offspring to arrive. Top quality G T and The Pumphouse IPA was top notch. We all had roasts which were as we expected and above expectation Sticky toffee puddings. Lovely manager keeping things moving efficiently. Well Done Book a table now

The food, wine, service and ambience are all great. Noisy sunday lunchtime. Recommend the scallops with cauliflower puree. Fish and chips, beefburger and sunday roasts all delicious. Limited puds. Lovely chilean sauvignon blanc and (argentinian? malbec.

Great pub, very friendly staff and excellent food! The plant-based burger was amazing (so were the fries! and the crème brûlée worthy of a grand-mother recipe, highly recommended!!

The duke of Cambridge is a cosy and friendly place in Battersea. Chef Le gaq made us a perfect board and burger, I would definitely recommend this place to everyone around ! 10/10

Great little spot for a bite. Our waitress graciously helped us navigate gluten free options. Cheers!
