One of the joys of working in and around Melbourne and Victoria are the amazing places you come across quite serendipitously. Continuously impresses me; George Street café is a hidden gem amongst the busy hospital district of East Melbourne. With a tasty strong house blend, the coffee delights the senses, and the sweet treats confirm the quality of this place. Ignore the somewhat cheap decor interior and appreciate the taste of the food, the kindness of the staff, and the consistent brilliance of George St Café. 4 stars.

First time visit here in East Melbourne. I'm truly blown away how good the original structure of the building still stands. The food menu is ace, prices are affordable. They serve tea and coffee for those who love a sip. Very peaceful area. Slow music in back ground. They have new paper aswell for reading. Must visit.

I always have breakfast at this restaurant once or twice while on holiday in Melbourne. The food and coffee are fantastic (my favorite is the traditional porridge with fruit and nuts) and Michael is well-liked by the local customers. I give it a rare 5-star rating...highly recommended.
