Gone are the diverse and flavorful food options that justified the price. The classic breakfast items now consist of powdered scrambled eggs, cold home fries, and cold waffles or pancakes served with greasy bacon or sausage. The casserole selections have been reduced to various iterations of the same dish: creamed or cheesy potatoes (with or without spices), over-seasoned tomatoes in a heavy cheese sauce, or baked string beans smothered in mushroom gravy. There’s also BBQ meatballs from Shaw's, with a sporadic choice between fatty corned beef brisket or thick-sliced ham.

This was our first visit, but it certainly won't be the last. We tried the Seafood Buffet, and it was absolutely delicious. The salad bar was also impressive. Our server was fantastic—very friendly and attentive. They offer outdoor seating, along with a deck that appears to open up when the weather allows, making it a perfect spot for warmer days. I highly recommend this restaurant for a meal. The gift shop is a nice bonus too. I would rate it ten stars!
I have lived in VT for 23 years and this is easily my favorite place to eat. Its affordable yet somewhere I would bring someone I would want to impress in some way...the people are great, the food is delicious! And it has had the same kind of ambience since I can remember -which of course has always been beautiful. I have not a bad word to say about this restaurant.
East Side used to be fantastic. Unfortunately, it has become too popular and can’t manage the crowds anymore. I understand that staffing can be an issue, but they really need to find a solution. Waiting 45 to 60 minutes just to be seated, without even an appetizer, is unacceptable.

Fantastic food! The seafood bisque is absolutely incredible—definitely go for the bowl! It's quite large, but every spoonful is worth it. Everything we ordered was delicious, and our server, Jody, was exceptional. We'll definitely be coming back!

We drove up from Barre for the seafood buffet. Well worth the drive. The food and atmosphere was amazing. Definitely will be back.
