As a loyal patron of the Czech Stop in West, TX, I'm always suspicious of perveyors of kolaches outside the area. I am delighted to say Easy as Cake is the real deal. Both the sweet and savory flavors are delicious (personal fave is the traditional apricot prune . The dough is an amazing family recipe straight from Slovakia. In the mood for cinnamon rolls? Oh, the options that await you here! More than a bakery, fortify yourself for a day on the lake with a popover sandwich. Portions are more than generous, so come hungry. Headed out on the water? Grab some kilbasa to go. These filling sandwiches are similar to a calzone, but the dough is the amazing kolache recipe. Both meat and vegetarian...
Good breakfast. Using a popover is a unique touch that is not too far from a traditional egg sandwich. I really appreciate that. Also a good coffee from Speeder Earl. The best part could be the bakery. Various crumb cakes, cinnamon rolls, muffins, cookies and bars are located behind the glass case. You had something like a maple walnut bar when I first stopped. It was fantastic. I hope they can find out how to buy some vegan menu options, so I can buy for my whole family in the future. I highly recommend meat eaters.
The best place for a delicious home cooked meal that is affordable and not includes busy lines with long waiting times. Make sure to save space for dessert (or take home! cuz the selection of baked goods here are some of the best in the area! (I only had the best apple cake here and can testify the best donuts here! The staff is always friendly and the service is always fast! I would recommend it here.
If you like popover, this is the place to go for breakfast and lunch. The owners are friendly and the food is wonderful. Sunday brunch buffet had eggs, sausage popover, chicken and gravy (to put on the popover if you wish), homemade soup and a wide selection of desserts. They are open every day for breakfast and lunch. Look at it. Support your local busuness!
