I had a disappointing experience with our server, Sebastian. He treated us poorly and seemed indifferent to our needs. To make matters worse, he didn't even pack our to-go order; he just left it on the counter to get cold. While that's not everything that went wrong, it's still frustrating. I ended up leaving him a tip that he didn't deserve. On a positive note, the server assistants were wonderful. They were helpful and kind, and I wish I had gotten their names. If I return, I'll be sure to thank them more sincerely. The food was good, though.
Started off 2022 at El Atlacatl with their delicious Hangover Helper Seafood Soup (or Salva Cruda Mariscada Salvadorena in Spanish) this seafood soup served in coconut milk is perfect for any time of the day. A platter which bring all kinds of yummy stuff like skirt steak, fried cheese, tortilla sausage, chicharron , fried yuca , tostones and beans. I discovered this restaurant while exploring the area near my accommodation. I don't speak Spanish, but a woman took my order. I had the chicken with rice and French fries. The chicken had a unique flavor, but it was tasty and nicely flattened out. There was also some coleslaw (I believe) that was quite tangy. My total for the meal, including a tip, came to $19.
We had a delightful dinner with a friend who had dined here previously. The live music in the adjacent room was quite loud, but we were seated far enough away that it wasn't bothersome. The service was good, and while the atmosphere wasn't extravagant, it provided a nice change of pace at a reasonable price.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. The service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. The salsa that accompanied the chips was the best I've ever tasted, so much so that I had to order extra to enjoy with my main dish. I highly recommend this restaurant!
