El Chalate is a lunch staple for me in the Denver area. How many places can you get a filling authentic meal for less than $10? Seems like those places are disappearing quickly from the Denver food scene while Chalate continues to be a working person’s restaurant where you can order pupusas, tacos, enchiladas, chile relleno, burritos, and more. My go to is always the #1 combination which you can see in the photo. I love being able to get the chile relleno, beef burrito, and cheese enchilada in one order. The staff and food were so wonderful! The woman who helped us out was friendly and kind to all of the guests and the food came with so much and tasted delicious! Absolutely a wonderful experience all the way around.
