This is our 2nd time at El Gauchito 2. Excellent food, serving and atmosphere. This Argentinian restaurant in Queens is nothing less than a top notch steakhouse in Manhattan. The food is extremely tasteful, prepared and served with care. We enjoyed the hot bread and butter along with jamon y queso plate on the house. Then we ordered empanadas de carne al horno y ensalada de la casa (heavenly taste! to share while we were waiting for our parillada. This is a lovely restaurant with excellent food. The chicken empanadas were among the best I've ever tasted—definitely a must-try! The meats were also quite good, and the portion sizes were generous. We ordered the two-person platter, which included six large pieces of meat. My only complaint is that one of the pieces was undercooked; you can see how red it was in one of the pictures. Fortunately, the staff offered to cook it again. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
This hidden gem has THE BEST FOOD! You don't have to be Hispanic to enjoy Hispanic food! I am Panamanian-American, and the food here is similar to our food. Good quality meats, great atmosphere. Very good service. Reasonable prices. Don't forget... good food! Baked empanadas were fresh and tasty. The chimichuri was so good we had some to go! Bread was soft and tasty... THE FOOD WAS GOOD!
Absolutely best spanish food around!!! I haven't had spanish food like that since my mother passed away 6 years ago! Highly recommended!! Definitely will be going back. Thank you guys for a great mothers day dinner!
