I recently visited El Montanerno Bakery, a Colombian spot that truly impressed me. The photo below shows the inviting exterior, and stepping inside, I was greeted with a tempting array of delicious treats. I couldn’t resist trying several items: merengue, sugar and cinnamon cookies, a slice of caramel and chocolate mousse cake, some large flaky pastries (though I’m not sure of the names), and a refreshing passion fruit juice. Everything was delightful, with the sugar cookies being my favorite—they reminded me of soft, buttery biscuits. The flaky pastry was my least favorite, but still good. Very disappointed. I don't recommend this bakery. I loved their cakes and ordered couple of times. I even recommended this plaxe for my friend and they liked too. Unfortunately my husband went there yesterday and bought some cake that was packedindividually in plastic containers. He ordered 6 and the lady packed those in paper bags. He didn't have a chance to look beforeshe put that for him. When he went home I saw something ughhh( see on pictures) and this was not ice cream btw. Two of them werefull of something melted. We throw them immediately. The rest was ok. I was so disappointed how they treat customers. That wasmy ladt time ordering from them.
I recently visited El Montanerno Bakery for a quick breakfast, and it was my first time at this location. The staff was friendly and professional, gladly accommodating my request for white cheese on my croissant. The coffee was excellent—strong, creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. The almojabana was generous in size and delicious. I also noticed they offer a wine selection, so I’m planning to come back for dinner soon. The seating is spacious and cozy in this medium-sized spot, with a warm atmosphere and attractive decor. The restroom was very clean, and there is metered street parking right outside. Definitely give this place a try!
The service at El Montanerno Bakery was excellent, with very friendly staff. However, my meal was only average. The chicharrón I ordered tasted overfried and seemed to have been cooked in old oil. I’m willing to give this place another chance, but next time I’ll steer clear of the deep-fried items.

The food is very good. Everything was delicious. Great Colombian food. The steak is filled with delicious flavor. The chicken quesadilla was very good. I would highly recommend El Montañero. Service is great and professional. The waitress is veryattentive and friendly.
I have spent a lot of time in Colombia and I did not find this restaurant reminded me of Colombia. I expected more from Brooklyn and have found better Colombian food in Montreal than this place.
The food is fresh and cooked to order. The appetizers and pastries are to die for. Always make a stop when I am home for a visit.
Not to my personal liking. But I'm very serious about my Desserts. These look better than they taste
