We chose to eat at El Xiringuito de la Platja primarily because of the good location. Unfortunately that turned out to be the only good thing about the restaurant. The service on the other hand was terrible! We waited over 20 minutes without being able to make an order, it was impossible to get the waiters attention and we didn't even get the drinks menu. In the end we just left. I think it is the one of the first times we have ever just left a restaurant after sitting down. Horrible service! I recommend everyone to just go past, don't even bother, they don't deserve your business.

For our last hours before taking the airplane Barcelona-Oostende(B) we had each a daily menu at 12,50 euro/person. From the terrace at the promenade near to the sandy beach (glass windscreens) we have both eaten a very nice menu, tipical Catalan, with just a cola drink. First plate with vegetables and cariety of meatslices, second plate 2 big brochettes with nice rice and tomatoes/paprikas. An ice cream or a flan catalan to finish. All that for 29,50 euros FOR us TWO !!! And with the service with a smile !!! For those who love airplanespotting: it's ideal.

Visited the place on the first and last days of our visit to Barcelona. During the first visit we ordered seafood paella and just were stuffed. On the last day we ordered the same and concluded that it is much more delicious than the ones in the city of Barcelona. Service is probably a bit too slow, but frankly speaking, where one might be rushing to, when seating in such a lovely place, gazing sunlight, sand, and the sea?

We had a very good quality, good value lunchtime set menu for less than €13 each this included 3 courses and a drink. Both the meat and fish dishes were very fresh and tasty with good garnishes. Polite and considerate service. Will definitely go back!
