What happened to this place? It used to be so good. I know it went under new ownership years ago but this honestly used to be my favorite place to get a bagel. The jalapeño cheddar cream cheese was insanely good so good in fact that my teacher used to let me leave class at Berkley High School if I brought him back an Elaine’s bagel with that cream cheese on it. The cinnamon sugar bagel?? That was INCREDIBLE is now non existent. This place has completely lost its identity compared to what it was a decade ago.

My first visit to Elaine's Bagels was today. The bagels and cream cheese were excellent, but I believe the standout characteristic of this place is the customer service. They provide a true New York deli experience by making you feel like a bother. It's a unique and immersive experience to be served with all the right words, but without any real enthusiasm or emotion. This place is fantastic, especially if you don't take it too seriously.

Write this place off. It's gone for good. They're on the fourth or fifth owner since their glory days in the 90s. I don't think the current owners even know what a bagel is. They tried to charge me $14 and some change for half a dozen bagels. F' that. The place is dirty and the non-bagel items they sell prepackaged ghetto **** that you would see at a gas station or at a party store. Forget about the this place it's over with for them.

This restaurant has a classic bakery vibe. I have always been treated well, with very polite and pleasant experiences. The coffee is consistently hot and I even received extra bagels when it was slow. I usually get a bagel and cream cheese once a week for breakfast and they are always delicious. This place is my go-to for bagels and I highly recommend it if you are in the area. I am very happy I started coming here. Book a table now

I recently moved into the area and decided to try out this Bagel place because my family enjoys bagels. It was a peaceful and straightforward establishment. The bagel and cream cheese were tasty, and the woman who served me was friendly, though not overly talkative like many in the Midwest, which I appreciated. I will definitely return to do some work on my laptop in the relaxed atmosphere.

Man, this place sucks. The only bagel shop where you better count your bagels before you leave. 2nd time bought 1/2 dozen and they gave me 4. Hardly any bagels left at 9:45 on a Sunday. Bugs everywhere, poor service, room temp coffee, and kinda pricey. Truly sad.

Place never opens on time always short on Bagels by mid-morning the young girl that works here is rude seems as though it's a trouble to wait on you I've had better Bagels elsewhere would not recommend this place.

This is the worst coffee I have ever had. It was old and cold, and instead of making a fresh batch, they just reheated it in the microwave. The place smelled like burnt cheese and chlorine. Absolutely terrible. Book a table now

This traditional bakery takes me back to my childhood with delicious chewy bagels made fresh. The $6 combo of a fresh bagel and coffee is unbeatable. I'll definitely be returning!
