We popped up to the Elferhuette after finishing the Stubai Horseshoe to fill in another day, climb the Elferspitze and stay in a hutte we hadn't done on the route. Ideally placed just above the lift so a great place for people who want to...experience staying in a mountain hutte for the first time. Very clean, friendly hosts and good food. If you have a room with bunk beds you may want to take your own ladder as even when I stood on a chair I struggled to get up into bed.
That was by far the best coffee and cake we had all vacations. The views are also fabulous. It is a stiff climb from the Elferbahn, but it is worth it. By the way, you have to pay for the toilet.
Had a drink here. My sister didn't need a drink but sat with us inside. When we tried to use the toilet the owner shouted at us - even though we would have paid the charge to use the facilities .
