we stayed here on a long trip and were glad to find this place with vegan and gluten-free options. we have huge portions, eating was fast, and we were full of definition. we had rest for 2 days! perfect on a trip. that said eating was okay and seemed healthy, but it was quite tasteless. I don't think they used any salt on anything we have. I mean, salt isn't good for you, but if I wanted to eat that way, I would have made my own food. overall we had a good experience! a visit worth.
my fiancée and I (both vegan) got a vegetarian plate and so we checked that the red cabbage was vegan, as the menu still says it mayonnaise has in it. Now it is a vinegar-based salate and is delicious. everything was fresh and ingenious. the staff was also very friendly! our whole meal was less than $30 total for more than enough eating.
I ordered the “vegetarian dish” that the owner said was actually vegan, but the menu was not updated. everything was absolutely delicious. I also had the Turkish coffee that was great. I'll go back next time I'm in town.
we drive through birmingham and have decided to try elis. we ordered the delicious “vegetarian dish” (real vegan)! the pita brot was thick and so delicious! my favorite was the falafel that was exaggerated with tahini.
