Seems like Michelin starred institutions in the very centre of town close down Saturday for whatever strange reason. So I relied on the GR Manager in our hotel to find a suitable alternative. I did not regret it (except for the final part of the story). Located on a lovely square, great table by the window on the first floor (not easily reachable by extremely narrow and steep spiral staricase). Well set tables.Service rather easygoing in no hurry, two waiters carefully eyeing the regulars' tables in the small and fully occupied room (20-25 people). Not so carefully ours, so I had to pour the wine myself a couple of times. WInelist strictly French, well chosen, markups rather high. We wanted...

Visited Chez Emile for lunch as it had been recommended by a tour guide. She was right, the food was tasty. I had the fish soup (can't recall the name) and it was really nice and a great portion size. We ordered 6 oysters as a small starter and they came on a plate each (3 on each plate). The place was swimming in salty water and there was no typical vinaigrette to go with them. There was about three small shreds of shallot on the plate in the water. I would have expected them to be served on ice with a small bowl of vinaigrette. Didn't enjoy these as much as I did the fish soup. The service to clear plates away was very slow and the waiter seemed keen to clear tables where people had alread...
During a business stay on Toulouse we had several dinners in different types of restaurants. On our last night we came here, since we wanted to have the typical cassoulet (even though more of a winter dish) and we had been said this was the best place to have it. Nice atmosphere sitting here on a sunny summer evening, with the hussle and bustle of a french old town square. For aperitif I had a kirr (white wine) with violette. The cassoulet was very good and I was glad to not have opted for a starter first.I did have dessert and the souffle with Grand Marier was just a heavenly treat, especially when the waiter came to put a scoop of ice cream in the souffle.Restaurant is probably overpriced in...
Went there for a lunch with familly. The service is good but will most probably be perceived as arrogant by non French ( ex : a chinese couple asked a question and the answer started by "as i already told you ..." !!!). This being told the service stays clean and professional. The food is simple local food but well cooked. It is rare to have a good cassoulet without too much fat. Desserts are clearly above average and very good quality without being too sweet. Would clearly have given 5 stars without the price. 42 euros for a 3 courses menus is really over priced.Go there, you may be disappointed by the service, you will probably be disappointed withe price but you will have very good food.... Excellent restaurant on Place Saint George's in the old town of Toulouse. I had the Fois Gras, followed by the chefs special - Lobster and finished with the Grand Marnier Soufflé all of which were excellent. The wine list was excellent but a little pricy. Staff were attentive but not over powering. I would definitely book again. Reservation is a must on the weekend.
We had this restaurant recommended to us and were not disappointed. We had a table outside on the square. Service was friendly and at the right pace. The food was delicious. They have a great choice of wine. We went for a glass of rosé which was excellent. Also the deserts are recommended!
I had booked a table in advance - essential - and asked for a table on the terrace. This was nice but we were right by the road and the dustcart collecting the days rubbish! However the food was great - including an outstanding cassoulet. Great place , but do book in advance
Dinner was booked up but we made it for lunch the next day, superb cooking, everything was first class, cold summer soup, hake for main course and delicious peach dish for dessert. 20 or 24 euros well worth it. First class cuisine. No wonder they have many reservations. Book a table now
The restaurant is especially interesting if the wheather allows outdoor eating. The square is lively and makes for a great athmosphere. We took the menu de degustation, two starters, a fish and meat dish and 2 desserts. All was very nice and we had a lovely evening
