"Three of us had fish and chips, one salt and pepper prawns and squid, one the special steak for only $12. All well cooked, tasty. Enjoyed a middy of Reschs with mine. Much busier than on my last visit."

This pub was a lucky find! First thing you notice when you walk in is the eclectic decor. There is a sense of luxury thanks to all the rich fabrics and antique style furniture that is given a sense of fun as it mismatched. There is a real hat tip to bygone days and we were impressed. Gives your meal out a great vibe!Collect the menus from the bar. Lots of pub fare to choose from chicken parmigiana, burgers, ribs, fish and pizza. Prices for most mains were around the $20 mark. There is a good selection of dishes on the kid's menu. Two of our group had the parmigiana which was moist and tasty but be warned as serving size is quite large. It came with great chunky fries and a side salad. Hubby...

Was still nursing the fullness of a bigger than average breakfast when my wife asked if we could eat at this lovely looking older style suburban Sydney pub.The decor was a mix of very old and old but very interesting ... so many talking points. My wife ordered a substantial meal but I asked the chef what light options he could do as I was not really hungry. He suggested he could make a light custom salad option for me.My meal was a delight. Arugula (a.k.a. roquette) base with salt, pepper, olive oil drizzle and slivers of shaved parmesan. Simple but light and tasty. Right place-right time. Hit the spot for me.My wife was similarly thrilled by her lamb meal with in-season vegetables. Staff 5/5...

The Empire is a local institution. You need to book on Fri-Sun nights. The food is consistently of a good standard but the service is often with attitude and unhelpful, especially the kitchen staff who can be a bit rude. The drinks are very expensive but the ambience is lovely. I'd suggest giving it a go on Sunday nights - two for one meal deal.

I come here often because I work very close. The staff are very friendly. The food is good, they have specials everyday - Ranging from steaks, burgers to roast dinners. Portion sizes are big!! Thursday they do a special on the ribs, it's huge and you'll struggle to finish.
