We stopped here for refreshments in a very hot afternoon. I also had a sandwich which was very tasty. The view is nice, staff is friendly. I had to say that I was in shock when I saw the price for the mineral water. It was 50% more expensive than the beers (but later during the trip I noticed that it is like this in many places in Switzerland).This place seems to be very popular. We noticed that several tables were reserved for dinner and while we were there a couple was celebrating their wedding in the restaurant. It was quite festive, the decoration and all.The downside here is that you have to pay to park the car, as the parking lot is also used by people who come to swim in the lake.
Engelberg is one of my favourite lake view restaurants. Located in the quite area, it is a perfect location for family lunch or romantic dinner. Try the basket of Eglifilets or lobster foam soup, which is a state of culinary art. For the meat lovers, there is good burger in the menu. The only thing that could be improved is the service, which is sometimes too slow and inattentive.
Very friendly owner couple, as well as every service employee! We are excited. The food on Saturday evening was fantastic, as was the location right on the lake. Enough privacy as the tables in the garden were not lined up too close to each other. Dog friendly and very professional, despite the restaurant being full. Thank you very much and see you soon!
Excellent food (we had all local fish), very fine local wine (Oeil de perdrix, a Pinot Noir Rose), friendly service (bilingual D/F, we did not have to try English, but I assume that they have a working knowledge), well shaded lakeside terrace

Very friendly service. The food, perch fillets menuier with vegetables, boiled potatoes and salad from the buffet was excellent. The ambience is simply fantastic despite the rainy day. Price and performance are top.
