First evening arriving in Carmel. We were tired and stumbled upon adorable patio. Tiramisu...very good Salad....OK. not worth 21$ AT ALL. Muscles-flavored perfectly....very good Crab Ravioli...lovely but champagne creme sauce too sweet, not balanced. Service...arrogant. They say customer is not always right on the menu. Offered a glass of wine to try that he felt I would like when I ordered a glass of chianti. I was open to this...but then he walked away from table. It was a nice pour...but he never explained the wine, what he was offering me. I could have spoken up....but truthfully, did not feel at ease to. It was fine. Overpriced and over-con fident. We will not return.
We passed on the carbonara because they didn't use guanciale, and had the bolognese instead. Good call. It was very good, perfectly paired with their delicious chianti. The veal could be a little bit more tender. Some may feel there's too much lemon, but I like me some citrus flavors. The orange-flavored sponge cake was not too sweet, and goes perfect with a double shot of espresso. The place was clean and cozy, service was fast and very friendly.
Absolutely amazing authentic Italian food! We have orders pizza margarita, pizza with burrata and prosciutto, and crab ravioli everything was delicious! We have spent the whole summer in Italy, so when it comes to authentic Italian food we know what we are talking about! Wonderful service, great wine recommendation! Lovely outdoor patio. Highly recommend if you appreciate great food!
Writing this review when I am still sitting in this restaurant. Food is really good. But service is really bad. They pickup dishes without asking and while we haven't finished. Not once but multiple times when I was not even finished. The waiter is in a hurry. Definitely needs some serious waitering classes. Hope they take this as a positive feedback as they have really good food.
