The last time I had been to a sugar shack was during a school trip so I was really looking forward to this visit. Charbonneau sugar shack did not disappoint! I chose this place after googling Montreal sugar shacks. The all you can eat lunch was amazing! To start, the server will bring you a refreshing small cup of apple cider which I think is made from the apples that are grown at their orchard. Then comes the rolls, pickles, beets, pea soup, coleslaw and cretons. Next comes the meat pie, sausages, eggs, bacon, pork rind, meatballs, baked beans, ham and potatoes! Then comes the dessert of sugar pies, pancakes, mini donut and pet de soeur (lol)! There's also unlimited coffee (which was very g...

For a cabane à sucre, the food was pretty good, not the best we've had but the best in the region. Having been to several sugar shacks, food was above par from what you would expect, the main shack is made of logs and is very well maintained, everything was immaculate. Kind of like a resort. The service was efficient and friendly but not warm. Having been to a lot of sugar shacks, I'm not a fan of the ticket system for getting ice taffy, because it usually requires you to eat it in a small crowded room that can get very hot. As for entertainment for the kids!..that's a different story, they have one of the most spectacular outdoor playgrounds I've ever seen at a sugar shack, wagon rides etc...

Our second visit to Erabliere Charbonneau (first one, March 2014) and it was even better than we remembered. If you want an authentic, homemade Québécois meal, this is it. Delicious pea soup, meatballs, mini tourtière, pork rinds, baked beans, Apple cider, and my favorite, the sugar pie. All in a rustic cabin-like dining room. It was really busy, and the gentleman directing traffic said they were full and it wouldn't be possible to eat. There are other things to do, like the pony rides, playground, wagon ride, taffy on snow, small zoo (goats, turkeys, sheep and pigs), so we parked and looked around. We asked at the dining room anyway, and they were able to seat us (small party of 3). Definit...

We went for brunch recently and were very disappointed - not so much at the food but at their business model, which saw way too much wastage. At a fixed price, diners are not asked what they wanted; the server - who was very friendly and courteous - just brought whatever food items was on the "menu.' We ended up consuming no more than half of what was brought to us; what was left was obviously discarded. When we asked for cream for our coffee, we were told they did not have any. Instead, we were given a full 500 ml bottle of fresh milk. We used no more than 2-3 tablespoons for our coffee and the rest of the milk was discarded. When there is so much hunger in and outside Canada, it was a shame t... Book a table now

I had the pleasure of having dinner with friends here the other day. It was a really nice experience. I have heard horror stories about sugar shacks, too expensive, food not that good, nothing to really do, but stand around and get cold. This place is just the opposite! A large sampling of food was served, it was delicious! At 30 $ per adult the price was reasonable. They offered wagon rides through the maples and adjacent orchard. They had a large and interesting playground and a campfire to keep you warm. The best Sugar Shack experience i can remember.

We have now been for the last 3 years to this sugar shack for an office outing. The place is not too big so you can get private tables for your group and if you go with kids there is a petting zoo and outdoor activities. The food is also very good with all the sugar shack favourites along with mini tourtières, meatballs in gravy and nuns farts, sugar pie and mini pancakes for dessert. In the eastern townships 15 minutes off highway 10.

If you are in the Quebec for maple syrup season this is a must. Our group of 16 really enjoyed this stop. The food was great and plentiful. The maple syrup flowed and we had a wonderful time. We were led to this stop by a local and it did not disappoint.

Not generous, everything is checked and counted. Doesn't have the feeling of a real cabane a sucre. Looks like a Restaurent in a middle of a maple tree land. Book a table now
