At the top of the cable car above the village of Maurach, overlooking lake Achensee, on finds three different restaurants. We only tried this one, which also serves as a mountain hut offering accomodation. The hut has a very cozy, warm wooden interior, split into several mid-size rooms, and a large outdoor terrace with an amazing view of the mountains, the valley and the lake. It offers a nice selection of drinks (including draught beer), some lighter snacks as well as decent main dishes and even a large selection of cakes for dessert. They even make a good cappuccino. you drive up with the rofan cable car to the left the erfurter hütte. you can sit outside and enjoy the great view over the mountain and the lake. where we were there was dreamy weather, pure sun, unfortunately too little sunshades. therefore best sun cream and head cover do not forget (what you have when walking in the sun anyway). the food is very tasty and a good price ratio.When looking out you can relax. is suitable for subsequent strengthening and resting after a hike in the rofangebierge before it goes back to the valley.
after our small hike in the rofan we are here to come to lunch.The location is unbeatable, situated directly next to the rofan cable car and a dreamlike view from the terrace on the lake and the karwendel mountains invites the hut to stay.The kitchen is in order, bark soup with frit very tasty, the imperial rusty not bad but so uninhabited. the service was friendly and fast, the price-performance ratio also ok, i.e. I would rather give a good instead of satisfying what unfortunately is missing in the selection!
After a long and tiresome hike, a lunch is welcome in this place. From their terrace you have a beautiful view over the Achensee and the surrounding mountains. We had the Kaiserschmarrn and Wiener schnitzel and both tasted good. Large parts. It is located right next to the cable car.

Beautiful interior design and a unique view from the terrace. We had 2 huge carvings with french french fries, a large goulash soup, noodles with cheese and onion plate and two local beers. The quality of food was great and also the service. We paid 55€. Absolutely not to miss.
The views from the outside balcony are amazing as you look down to Achensee. Service in the restaurant was friendly and quick. We called for a coffee stop whilst skiing but were also tempted by the apfel strudel and vanilla sauce, it was delicious.
after the journey with the air cable car on the rofan went to the afternoon dinner on this wonderful early evening to the Erfurter hütte. an oversized carving served by a nice set up service. unique view of the lake!
the hefurter hut is a must when you are at the lake. it also goes a way up. but the look is more beautiful when you get the climb and then the broth time tastes even better. ambiente is unavoidable and warm.
