Lovely romantic country village hotel restaurant. Idillic setting. The service was very good and cheery. Very limited menu but not unusual in this type of restaurant. Main course choice of fish, risotto, duck, Berger or steak. We chose the steak, if Noel Fitzpatrick had been eating here he could have used a defibrillator and brought it back to life. After sending it back to be sorted we attempted to eat it. The steak was chewy, stringy, fatty and just generally yak and the only taste coming through was garlic and oil. Served with bland and tasteless green beans and sliced potatoes. There is no excuse, especially at 24 euros (including desert which was wonderful). We didn’t complain as my Fre...

This is a typical rustic French Hotel. The rooms are bigger than average with a good bed, shower/bath, tv and a fan. The bed was comfortable and during the night the room and village were blissfully quiet. Don’t plan on sleeping past 7am as the church (see picture) is about 20 yards away and it’s bells ring out from then onwards. We dined outside under a wisteria terrace and thoroughly enjoyed our delightful meal Camembert in Calvados or Foie Gras followed by Fillet D’Agneau accompanied by a generous 2018 Chinon. Breakfast was ample with fresh croissants, roles cold meats and cheese. Ample parking outside and a bar tabac in the village square. It was a great stay and we shall return.

This place came recommended by our gourmands local hosts and we were not disappointed. The menu is limited but superbly prepared and an outstanding value (we had the lovely dinner menu at €29 and were enchanted. The magret de canard was particularly well done. We were also pleasantly surprised by the lovely local Tursan appelation wine (largely Cabernet franc? which was a perfect match for our meal. We sat on the lovely terrace under a gorgeous canopy of very old Wisteria. If it were a fresh night, a spot inside beside their cosy fireplace would have been luxurious. Top quality, very reasonably priced. Highly recommended. They have rooms too would love to book one there next time.
