I was not expecting to stumble across this in the old city centre. The price is slightly above the street food outside, but once you sit down you ask yourself if you're even paying enough. The service is top notch, and the food was exquisite. Many of the dishes are local specialities and I particularly recommend some of the fresh juices made of regional fruits (graviola and cupuaçu). If I'm ever lucky enough to backpack again around Brazil, I will certainly be stopping here.
If you come through Sāo Luís this is a truly excellent value and incredible variety of beautifully prepared local specialities in a refined, welcoming and relaxing setting. A local friend recommended this place to me, and it is the perfect lunch stop before a long series of flights back home.
The best food, service and atmosphere so far seen in Brazil. The restaurant is actually an exit of a cooking school so that the food is made for the buffet of students. Do not let this fool you all very tasty, and in great variety.
Here was very clean and organized. My son who is 5 ages was pleased to eat some seafood. The best lunch in São Luis.
