If it was not for the EXCELLENT service, I was giving this place a 2 for the food that was close to mediocre. I ate Greek food in Athens, in Crete. In Montreal, from the high end Milos and the lower end Au vieux Duluth and other tourist traps on Prince-Arthur...all of it served better food then what I got there. And on the lower end, for surely 70% of the price. Even any Greek food court shopping mall restaurant taste better...Probably based on the nice patio and nice inside, the place is busy. It seems that the kitchen had troubles that night to follow up (nice Thursday warm summer night) as many guests were asking repeatedly about when they would get their food. I went on the cautious side...

Went for the first time because my boyfriend goes often with his co-workers and absolutely loves this place. We started with a Greek syrah red wine, from their extensive Greek wine selection, called Thema. The server explained how it was certified organic and one of his favorites. He was right, it was excellent and paired well with what we were going to order. We ordered from the table d'hote. I got the fried zucchini and he got the calamaris to start. They were both perfect and flavorful. For our second course, he ordered the lamb chops and I opted for the Chef's moussaka. His lamb chops were grilled perfectly and tasted amazing, even though I don't like lamb, I would even order them next t...
I was in Montreal to celebrate my birthday and I had a hankering for Greek food. Unsure where to go, I turned to Trip Advisor and I found Yia Sou Greek Grill - highly rated. I called to make a reservation. The woman on the end of the line was rushed and repeated my name back to me incorrectly, but rather than correct her I knew what she had said. We got there - no record of the reservation. The restaurant was not busy. The waiter who met us at the door rushed us to a table. We were rushed throughout the meal (but read on). Appetizers came immediately, before both drinks came to the table. I told the waiter we weren't in a rush and he grunted OK as he rushed away. The salads came a minute late...
We were there on Saturday evening. There wasn't too many people. We started with the green salad and greek salad. The pootions were quite large, and very good. For thr mean dishes, we had meat plater and seafood plater, grilled vegatables, grilled oyster mushrooms and greek potatos.Over all, the vegatables dishes were very good. The meat plater was also quite good. However, the seafood plater was an disppointment. The fried calamari and grilled octopus were slymy, below other greek restaurant's stanard. The services were good. Book a table now
I went there for late lunch. It was not much people so the service was quick and efficient. The plate was really well dressed, couldn't eat it all.
I come here really often. It has a great atmosphere and a great staff! The service is spectacular. The waiters are friendly and the steak.... phenomenal!!! Totally recommend it to everyone who has the chance to visit Montreal or who lives in the neighbourhood.
I liked this place for the snappy service but came back for the Mousakka. Even the waitress admitted it was better than her mom;s. Usually very busy on the weekend so be prepared to wait a little.
The food and service is excellent and has remained consistent throughout the years. The souvlaki, calamari and pikilia are my recommendations. Book a table now
