If I hadn't been before, I probably wouldn't be back. I've eaten at Ethel's dozens of times over the years, but this last visit was underwhelming. The server was awkward and lacked confidence. My mother ordered a cocktail, and the bartender spent the next ten minutes goofing off with the server. We were one of two tables so they weren't busy. Also the bartender never washed her hands even after clearing napkins that had people's saliva on them. My wife blew her node in one. Wash your hands. Disgusting. Food went down a notch. The jambalaya was swimming in sauce, which was odd. There was only about 6 pieces of sausage in a pile of rice. The muscles The gumbo was served over an entire chicken...

I recently had a disappointing experience with a food establishment in the Mount Washington area. I called to place an order for creole food but was met with extremely rude and disrespectful behavior from a member of the staff. I attempted to order two servings of jambalaya, but every time I tried to place an order, the person I spoke to was condescending and dismissive. When I attempted to order baby back ribs, instead of being polite and informing me that it was a dinner item, the gentleman was incredibly impolite, stating that I couldn't have it without any explanation. After some consideration, I called back to express my dissatisfaction and left a message. However, the response I receiv...

I found this spot on Google because I wanted to try something different in the city. I walked in and noticed it was a nice quaint spot. The atmosphere was very nice. The staff was very pleasant. But I must say the food was delicious and awesome. They gave huge portions so much so that I couldn't eat it all and had to take it with me. I had the crab dip as shown in the pics. It was tasty. I loved it. I also had the brisket, mac and cheese, and shrimp thingy. That was great. As I stated, the portion was huge. It was suggested by my server, Lindsay, who was wonderful, might I add. My friend had red beans and rice, and I tasted a sample, and that was good. They have a nice menu of other things I...

Not even remotely like anything I have experienced in Louisiana. Dry jambalaya. Absent of most of the proper ingredients and they just threw a piece of grilled chicken on top. I wad honestly embarrassed for them. Service was slow and unacceptable as well. When people are empty and waiting for drinks that are high profit margin drinks, not taking care of them is gross mismanagement. Just a big waste of money and time.
