Far East Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant that serves some of the best dim sum in Montgomery County. They also have a regular menu for lunch and dinner. The flavors and textures are more authentic than other restaurants in the area. Everything is well seasoned. We ordered shrimp and pork shu mai, shrimp in rice wrapper, barbecue pork bun, and fried spring rolls, among others. We went on a Sunday at lunchtime. It was crowded, but we only waited about 5 minutes for a table. The decor resembles a formal Chinese style and the space is average size. Dim sum is served from carts or can be ordered separately from the menu. Food arrived quickly. This is a good place to bring family, friends, cowor...

The woman at the front desk as well as the waitress were so so so accommodating. We had a toddler with us and they went above and beyond to make sure he (and the parents and family) were comfortable and taken care of. They definitely went above and beyond and I will always keep this in mind. On a separate note; the food is always PHENOMENAL! There is a reason there is always a long wait for dimsum! Everything is fresh, well prepared, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! I have never had a bad dish! Cannot say enough about how wonderful this place is.

I had dinner at Far East for the first time on Friday night after driving past it many times and thinking, “I should go there!” And I’m SO glad I finally did. The service was great, both servers who helped us were friendly and knowledgeable. We were greeted with a full pot of warm, delicious oolong tea. Then for dinner we had the Szechuan bean curd and two other dishes which weren’t officially on the menu. Everything was great. We will be back for dim sum, as we’ve heard it’s the most authentic in the DMV!
