First let me start by saying this place is out in the country. So, if you think 15km is 15 minutes think again. More like 40. At some point you leave a paved road onto gravel and dirt. What an amazing experience!!! A family owned business for over 40 years I think. The place is squeaky clean, the cows with their big neck bells might be there to greet you. They too are very clean. LOL Order the typical repas mercaire but you better be hungry. Every course is one better than the other. Leave some room for the desert. Have the sasskass if I remember correctly. It is freshly made Munster cheese from the morning that hasn 't developed the crust that you would see at the market. It is dipped in cr...

My partner's group of old friends arranged the dinner for 14 in this top of the mountain above the historic town of Munster in Alsace region, The road to reach this rustic farm house restaurant just stunning. You've passed several farm house restaurant (ferme auberge) on the way and each time, we were yet there, until we couldn't go higher and there it was, the secluded yet open view from the beautiful Alsace to Germany as far as your eyes can see, a rustic cozy looking auberge promising a refuge from the nippy weather at around 9 degree Celsius early in September. Walked inside, you were greeted by familiar and friendly staff, the family who runs the farm and the restaurant. The set menu wa...

Mmmm! Delicious hearty Alsatian fare to compliment a day of hiking. Pork pies, ham, gratin potatoes and thick rich potato soup -more food than we could consume, but leave room for the Susskase (sweet cheese) for dessert. You can hike or drive to the restaurant -it's in a beautiful setting. You may want to make reservations though -it's small and popular with locals. Be sure to visit the (very) friendly cows.

Had a Fantastic rustic lunch after a long walk up the petite Ballon. Wonderful place to stop for a great lunch. Also a vegetarian menu (served with local cheese), which I didn 't expect! Good friendly service. The Roigabrageldis (potatoes) were to die for, served with cheese or meat and salad, simple but yummy! Also the vegetable soup to start was really good. Clean toilets! Really recommend!
