We were recommended Fire and Ice as a nice place for a coffee break. It was indeed a nice place with comfortable seating in a nice location with a good view. However, trying to get a coffee proved to be somewhat of a mission. 4 of us arrived at 11.15 and sat in comfortable sofas covered in fur blankets and waited for the waitress to arrive. At the time there was one waitress behind the bar and 2 wondering around the restaurant with clip boards. The waitress behind the bar eventually came to take the order from some others who had arrived just after us, and then seemed to take forever to prepare their drinks. Meanwhile the other 2 waitresses had been joined by several others who were hanging...
We where recommended Cucina agelina for lunch by our chalet and thought we couldn't go wrong considering it is one of Angela hartnetts restaurants , great location and lovely design , but I must say the food didn't live up to expectations, we ordered 2 main dishes and I must say they where like starter size, mine the roast lamb shoulder was very tasty but just not enough of it and my girlfriends sea food soup which the waiter recommended was totally disappointing very small with a few pieces of seafood in a pretty plain broth with a really big chunk of bread in it to beef the size up..!! Hence we where still hungry so we ordered another main of pasta which was tasty but come Angela should sh...
Like Crumbs 62, I am surprised that all the other reports are so good - maybe Crumbs and us just had a bad experience! We came here on our usual 11am hot choccie and brandy stop...and were charged an EYE WATERING 40 euros for just these 2 drinks!!!! The staff were friendly, and the location is super, and the drinks were nice...but 20 euros EACH??? My husband almost fell off his trendy bar stool. And as he said, it cannot be often that chocolate leaves a nasty taste in your mouth! We sat in the marque bit outside - could that engender these very high prices - we just don't know. Sadly we won't be going back - we couldn't afford it. After this experience we made sure we checked prices on menus...
We stopped here a few times on our trip once for lunch and other times for drinks.The restaurant is part of a hotel. Lots of comfortable sofas outside , with warm throws and fire pits. It does get busy so make sure you book.A party of six had lunch and all dishes were great. The mushrooms on toast to start was lovely. Burgers and pizza were our mains. Portion sizes are big so ensure you are hungry. House wine is really good. We also had an excellent hot chocolate with cream.There is a great atmosphere and it's also a good place for après ski drinks. A great option for those in 1650.

Pause déjeuner au pied des pistes dans un cadre contemporain chic. Le restaurant se situe dans l'hôtel PORTETTA et propose une jolie terrasse et une carte gourmande. Le choix est difficile tant les mets semblent appétissants, une cuisine italienne dans toute sa splendeur... Nous craquons pour un antipasti a base de tranches d'aubergine au four ou encore pour du jambon de Parme a la mozzarella... Et bien sûr la pizza quattro formaggi, travaillée à la main...excellente! Et même déjà découpée en portions.Un service efficace et sympathique!Une adresse à retenir.
This is a great apres ski spot just at the foot of Ariondaz as you ski in to 1650.Probably best getting there slightly early to get a sofa or table in the sun. We were lucky enough to get seats in the sofa area with gorgeous fur rugs and soaked up the afternoon sun.The drinks came quickly. The gin and tonics were served in gorgeous crystal glasses.Lovely atmosphere, cool music, happy hour from 4.30 - 5.30pm. Bonus!
We booked a table for 11 of us for lunch so we could meet up with friends. We arrived on time but our table took over three quarters of an hour to be ready. When the food arrived it was good and I would thoroughly recommend the Pizzas but if you want a timely lunch then our experience suggests this is not the place.
We visited on recommendation for a coffee, we were very disappointed in having to wait at least 20 minutes to order our drinks and then another 10-15 minutes for them to arrive despite their being staff around, we were not alone.

Endroit très cosi et agréable, avec de la musique et de bons plats italien ou pas. Les prix sont un peu élevé mais la qualité suit.
Lovely sun trap terrace with sofas and rugs. Pleasant service and just drinks ok. Busy place in season but we'll run.
