We booked the restaurant as a treat with another couple to celebrate a birthday. They offered a special prawn entree which was 7 large crumbed prawns. We ordered 2 plates to share between the 4 of us along with the cheese garlic bread and this was well and truly enough and all agreed the prawns were tender and succulent. Again we shared the mains which consisted of the mixed grill platter for 2 which was plenty for the 4 of us as it came with a bowl of small roast potatoes and we ordered the grilled vegetable dish which again was on a special and more than enough to share. Our group visited a restaurant in Unley on Saturday night. I ordered an eye fillet cooked to medium, but it came out overcooked. When we informed the waiter, he seemed unsure about what medium meant. Eventually, he agreed to take the steak back. However, when we received the bill, we discovered that we were still charged for the steak. The waiter blamed the manager for forcing him to charge us. Overall, the experience was disappointing and I will not be returning to this restaurant. Additionally, some members of our group fell ill later that night. It seems the restaurant has declined in quality since changing ownership. I would not recommend dining at this establishment.
On a very busy evening, we were shown to our table, and soon after received our menus. A change of management and staff seemed apparent since our last visit , and thing did not appear to be running as smoothly. Our shared entree was generous and tasty, and our main course syeaks were excellent quality and well-prepared. The potato sides were overcooked, dry and unappetising. A side salad contained walnuts which tasted very old and stale, which was a pity, as I love walnuts. At no time did any staffer enquire as to how we liked our meals, and I would have loved the chance to offer live feedback. It took 15 minutes to summon the bill, by which time we were glad to go.
the decor and service was fantastic. We ordered 6 natural oysters, 6 kilpatrick and 6 fire oysters and were told we could only have natural which surprised us as kilpatrick only involves bacon and the fire had pancetta, so were quite surprised these were unavailable. Anyhow the 6 natural were lovely.The menu had a great selection, we ordered eye fillet, beef ribs and the grilled squid. The meal sizes were generous and the meals were fantastic. The beef ribs was was tender, the meat just feel off the bone and very generous size. My calamari was so tender.The wine list was great, good selection of SA wines.We loved this restaurant and would definitely return

Came here for lunch. You can order from both the lunch menu or the normal menu but be warned- the servings for the lunch are quite large. My mum had the lasagna which was served with salad and potatoes - very rich, very filling but very lovely. I had the steak with chimichurri- delicious and the potatoes are well seasoned and taste amazing. We indulged in dessert- churros- fabulous caramel sauce and the pannacotta which was delicious and smooth. Friendly service. Really nice and we'll come back for dinner to try some of the larger dishes that are more expensive but also need more people to give them value.
Met with friends last night. First time there for all of us. Very expensive for size of meals. We shared 2 mains between 3 and a salad. Rocket salad with pear, walnut and walnuts $18. Beef ribs supposed to come with mash. Ran out of potatoes so gave bread. 4 small slices of garlic bread and 4 wedges of pita that came with nothing and was like eating cardboard . Pork ribs was huge plate with 4 of smallest pork ribs ever with 12 tiny cubes of potatoes. Beef rib (only1) not bad size but dry. Both mains were nearly $40 each. Won't be going back there any time soon.
Went to this Restaurant to celabrate friends Wedding Anniversary , unfortunately I would not return. Ordered the Spaghetti with Prawns & Scollops......hmmmmm,expected better, for almost $40,- 6 small Prawns & 4 extra small Scollops, both sooo over cooked!!Spaghetti was fine. Pana Cotta, was more like Trifle, Blackberries & Strawberries were nice. Chicken and the Steak dishes were OK, but nothing to rave about.Staff, well, don't think she knows what a Iron is . Restaurant it's self, very nice . unfortunately would not return.
The service was terrible. We had to wait an hour for our drinks, found dirty cutlery from a previous table, and had to go to the bar to get our own water and glasses. We waited another hour for our food, only to be told that most of the menu items were not available. The main course I ordered was not even listed on the menu. I requested my steak to be cooked medium rare, but it came out well done. I could not eat it as I was too hungry to send it back. Overall, we left feeling disappointed.

We went for a birthday dinner on Friday night. The restaurant was well decorated but almost empty. Had the dips with olives and bread followed by a mixed grill share platter. Dips very average with pizza base bread. Mixed grill ok however for $90 overpriced - mostly sausages and chicken ( overcooked) , a few pork ribs and 2 beef skewers.
This hidden gem on Unley Road offers amazing food, especially their delicious steaks. The service is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place.
