This pub is very close to my residence and I hadn’t tried it yet so I thought we'd try it one weekend, I was happy to find there was seating suitable for me, I'm disabled and find it difficult to get up from low seats, There were booths opposite the bar where the seat are set higher above the ground and these were fairly easy to get up from. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that all fried food is fried together, I have a very severe allergy to fish and I can’t have anything that has been fried in the same oil, even tiny amounts can cause a full blown reaction. Went to five bells on Sunday evening, got there with my family at 8.30 in the evening . Went to bar and order drinks and said to the barman is it ok to order food and he replied so 5 mins later went back to the the bar to ordered food for me and my grandchildren to be told by the bar maid SKy that the kitchen had shut this was at 8.40 pm. I checked what time the kitchen shut and it said 9.00. I was really upset as my granddaughters were hungry but she just said the kitchen is shut and I explained that it was advertised that it shut at 9.00 so I did not understand. I was thrilled to see a unique menu unlike any other Greene King I had visited before. I tried some chicken, waffle fries, and beans, and they were all delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they even recommended drinks and deals to us.

The portions at this restaurant were too small. I needed to order two meals to feel satisfied, which made it poor value for money. I had steak and chips, but only received a small handful of chips at most.
Sadly this pub is turning into a disaster. Was here with a large party last Thursday and they had no ice. None. Today went to order food and was informed they had no chef ! Just all round poor.

Second week in a row that one of our group didn’t get their meal. Service at bar awful 15 minutes wait for a drink. The pub isn’t even busy.
We had a funeral party of about 40 people the food and service first class I would whole heartedly recommend the five bells
