Five Dime is one of my go to places in Evanston. I discovered this gem during the pandemic. They have a beautiful open patio with a bar on the roof, with heat lamps, connecting to the inside area, with doors that can be left open or closed. The ambience, the food service, and the food was great. The place itself is a little hard to locate (based on few people 's experience)but if you see stairs, that 's the restaurant. Recommendation: smoked salmon and shrimp dumplings. They were my favorite!
Horrible service Luis. Ordered dine in, he packed it up for take out, when I told him, he acted like I inconvenienced him said 'it 's still warm ' as if I 'm to be happy to eat it out of Tupperware.
Very attentive staff, great sized portions and well made drinks. Good spot during summer, with games and a big rooftop area to hang out with friends. Visit even with the cold weather, it's worth it.

Perhaps not “hidden” but a short walk from the heart of downtown Evanston, this is a lovely spot for an afternoon drink on a well-done rooftop.
good and delicious mexican food. tacos and enchiladas. margaritas were great!!! was a little loud (friday night).
Great roof top and friendly staff. Limited choice but great lulu salad and ribs. Get the butter cake dessert.
