On April 22, 2020, I had lunch at this restaurant. I ordered calamari with salad and was extremely disappointed. It was the worst meal I have ever had. There were only a few strips of calamari, and the salad was inedible. It tasted like it had been soaked in vinegar. My dining partner had a sirloin with potatoes, which were okay, but the salad was lacking. It consisted of a few leaves and a small piece of cucumber, hardly filling up the small salad bowl.
how can fish in fnq be a bad choice? it was dry, overcooked and chewy, a real disappointment. the steak sandwich was also a little average. thin, impressing. we had heard that eating here was good. If we knew it was a shady little cafe in the corner of a room full of flashing Pokie machines, we would not have thought twice. we knew that eating this would have been cut, we would have gone down somewhere. I recommend them.
We had been out all day seeing the sites so looking for a place to eat close bye, just across the road. The usual Covid check in app and proof of vaccination was required. A stroll through the gaming area to find it. Menu choices...where fairly good, laminated for ease of cleaning. However no signage there stating that you have to order yourself at the counter. The meals where very enjoyable.
We dined at the restaurant while waiting for our room to be prepared. The Fish N Chips were fantastic, especially the tartare sauce. I attempted to charge our meals to our room but was unable to do so, resulting in us paying full price. Interestingly, my partner is an Accor member, but we received no assistance or acknowledgement regarding this. Book a table now
After a bad day out at the Barrier Reef (seasick!!), we had an evening meal here as I wasn't well enough to venture very far from our hotel, where Flinders is situated. We really enjoyed the meal and the service was good. It was great comfort food at the end of a bad day! Its situated in the Casino so had a quick gamble afterwards.
We ordered a tuna sandwich with salad, and it came out as a toasted wrap. Would not have ordered a toasted tuna and salad toasted anything. We had to wait quite some time for it also. Others around us got sandwiches, but we did not!...It was average. Probs my fault. Should have taken it back.
Cheap, quick meals available in this grill in the Casino. Service quick, tables basic, large servings. Steak with chips and salad $20, chicken parmigiana with chips and salad $16, coke $4 Also available quick meals like sandwiches and Ceasar salad.
