First time visit this pub. Fantastic family run pub, very homely feel to it. Staff were warm and friendly. Service was quick and efficient, with nothing being too much trouble! They checked everything was good with the food, with little checks in between to ensure our drinks were replenished. My partner had the mixed roast which came with all the trimmings (plus extra cauliflower cheese! and looked fantastic. I had the tuna cucumber baguette which was full to the brim! Booked to come here for my birthday dinner for 17 people; firstly I want to say THANK YOU to Emily and her team on making it such a great evening, from the table decorations to service and the food. The table was beautifully laid and the attention to detail was great, the service was very professional and friendly, the food was spot on no complaints for any of the dinners with my group. I will admit I am a super control freak micro management, email crazy person. Emily dealt with my questions with no worries. I have been eating fish and chips for over 80 years, from restaurants to food trucks, but I have never had such a terrible meal like the one I was served today. The batter was tough and undercooked, with very little fish and what I did taste did not seem like cod to me. There was none of the signature cod flakes, just a bland, mushy texture. The chips were also cold and hard. If this is the new standard under the new ownership, then I will not be returning. I did not say anything at the time to avoid upsetting my family, but it definitely put a damper on our day. I will not be returning to this establishment.
Pub is under new ownership. The pub used to be buzzing but now almost empty. Had lunch there during the week. Although the food was good, the staff were unfriendly and really couldn’t be bothered. Went in there again today one table in and went up to the bar to order. It was like a Royston Varsey schetch where we were told to order from a second bar further along to then be greeted by someone else who couldn’t be bothered. It’s not cheap in there and they will not last long with such appalling service!
I went to this restaurant with friends who live in the village and had recommended it to me. The menu was very appealing with a wide variety of options to choose from. The six of us ordered different main dishes ranging from sea bass to macaroni cheese and all of them were served well-presented and hot. I couldn't find any faults with the food or service.
Had a really pleasant experience on friday evening, attentive service. Lovely building and garden. Also it’s dog friendly which is always an added bonus. Offered dog treats as well. (Not me for lol! The food was lovely and piping hot. As a vegetarian it’s always nice to see a wide range of options on the menu. Will be back! Shout if to the fox staff :

First visit to this to the Fox and Hounds at Riseley, won't be the last. House Special Roulade of Chicken was delicious Friend had Hunters Chicken which was also excellent. This establishment is well worth a visit.
