This is a most beautiful restaurant ;but sadly it no longer serves beautiful food . It grieves me after 40 years as a customer)to say this ,but I now would recommend it to no one . Stay at home : you will eat better ! The service apart from by Pascal who as always was wonderful) was abysmally slow , totally unobservant and forgetful . The food when it came )was joyless ,with bizarre combinations of flavours and minuscule portions , not even really hot . You leave deeply disappointed and sad .They have hung a heavy dark curtain over the conservatory’s magnificent David Carter mural ask to have it pulled back) which now seems symbolic: a curtain has also been drawn over the wonderful restauran...

A terrible meal in a wonderful location. Our favourite hotel in St. Vaast now has a menu almost entirely devoid of flavour. We started with a bland onion soup, main courses, served with bitter tough leeks and cabbage, accompany mean-spirited minuscule portions of fish for both the starters and main courses; followed by completely tasteless desserts delivered in such small intricate portions I wondered if we had ordered from the Children’s Menu. The formerly marvellous Les Fuchsias restaurant now offers a bio healthy eating regime more suited to weight reduction than fine dining. This is not Norman cooking ... but we hope for better times in this lovely restaurant.

We dined in that part of the restaurant which is a covered inner court-yard. Very pleasant, though possibly 1 or 2 degrees more heat would have been nice. The food was really exceptionally good: very interesting vegetables, herbs and spices added to excellent principal food. St Vaast oysters are very nice... The sommelier really knew his business: try the Chinon white by the glass) and a Camut Calvados. Tops.

The restaurant is elegant and situated in a lovely garden. The staff are welcoming but a little formal. The meal was pleasant but without the wow factor and, a month on, not memorable. The price was reasonable and the clientele a little bourgeoise. Perhaps this is the place to be seen in St Vaast.
