However, I tired to summon the waiter, to pay the bill, but an overweight man from the staff, who was not our waiter came with the check, which was 32 euros, he counted out the change, from 40 Euros, a five note, and some coins, I said Grazie, and before I could count my change, he scooped up all of the coins, and pocketed them before I could leave what I thought was appropriate, I didn't want to make a scene, over a small amount of money, but for a high quality restaurant, I thought this was extremely tacky. We were in Kassel for Documenta and called just a few hours before to ask for our reservation. They said they were full but that we should just come and they would try to fit us in. When we arrived there was no room for us, so we stood at the bar and ordered a wine. Before the wine even arrived a very friendly local couple invited us to join their table (they were seated a table for 4). We were served by friendly staff - we ordered a bottle of red, a wooden-oven pizza and a salad. The pizza was excellent, the wine very good and the salad mediocre. We had an excellent time with our new friends and shared a very good meal. I would definitely go back for the pizza.
We were in Kassel and the lady at the tourist agency recommend this place to us for lunch. We were nearby, so we went over. it was a terrific recommendation. There are lots of tables. The people working there were very friendly. The menu is full of many items that you will want to select. Italian items that you may recognize and many dishes that looked familiar with a twist. Our food was Delicious. I could have easily eaten there again the next day. On top of all of this, the prices were great as well.
We ate here as a couple before visiting the opera. The menu was very rich and the dishes were extremely delicious (while also being huge). The staff was very friendly, nice and charming but also absolutely unobtusive and in no way superficial. The place itself is really beatiful and the atmospere is cozy without being too kitschy. We will definitely come here again; and next time we will also bring the kids because it seemed also very good for families.

We stumbled into this hidden gem on a rainy family drive from Kaiserslautern to Hamburg. What a find!!! The fresh, brick oven pizza was absolutely mouth-watering with inexpensive prices and amazing service. I would literally consider driving 3 hours again just to relive the splendor!!!
We had a lovely dinner at Fratelli - looking over the Documenta venue the Parthenon of books. The food was lovely and service very friendly. Not really cheap, but well worth it!
We came here while staying for a night in Kassel. Other reviews are absolutely right, fantastic pizza and pasta. Go there if you want great food for a decent price.
Everything was just not good enough. The salad was completely without fantasy or richness. The taste of the shrimps boring and dry. The patatoes were soggy.
