I placed a to go order online for 2 fried salmon, 1 grilled shrimp, and 1 fried shrimp dinner. Upon arrival, the young lady at the register was very friendly and my order was prepared on time. Unfortunately, after a 20 minute drive home, I discovered that all of the entrees were grilled. The mac and cheese, string beans, jollof, and kale caesar salad were good. I would only recommend the plantain fries when they are hot. Disappointed I didn't get what I ordered.
I have to admit, I was not impressed with the flavors of the food at this restaurant. The vegan fish was average, but the kale Caesar salad was surprisingly delicious. The Mac and Joloff was outstanding. The customer service was excellent and the ambiance was pleasant. Perhaps I just made the wrong choices when ordering. I might give this place another chance in the future.
I was truly impressed by this restaurant. The comfort food they offer is outstanding, and it is definitely a hidden gem. I especially enjoyed the signature lemon chicken and plantain fries. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. If I lived nearby, this would definitely be my go-to spot. I will definitely be returning.
Something's different... Don't get me wrong, the food is still great! But there is something noticeably different about the Kale Caesar Salad w/ shrimp. There was something special about this salad that required NOTHING... it was deliciously perfect. Now, today... I had to add salad dressing. Put it back the way it was please Book a table now
Wow wow wow. Fantastic meal at Freetown on Saturday night. Came in with a big group and they could not have been more welcoming; they set up the dining room to ensure we could enjoy our meals while still being safe. Chicken, fish, vegan...all outstanding. Big shout out to Skylar for going above and beyond.
Love the African and Soul Food concept of this restaurant. The wall art was also captivating. However, the food didn't quite do it for me. While I didn't hate my order, I also didn't find it exciting. It certainly left a lot to be desired. The drinks we got (Zobo Mango) however, were delicious!

There has been a noticeable change in the Kale Caesar Salad with shrimp. While the food is still delicious, there was something special about the salad that didn't require any dressing. Now, I had to add dressing to it. Please bring back the original recipe. Book a table now
The restaurant offers delicious food with generous portions. We tried the signature chicken with jerk sauce and rice, accompanied by a tasty salad. Currently only offering takeout, but we are eager to dine in soon.
