The restaurant in Highland Park uses an addictive seasoning that makes the chicken wings incredibly flavorful and delicious. However, this Fresh Fish location does not use the same seasoning and I can definitely tell the difference. The wings are still good, but they are fried in a more traditional style, like your grandma was in the kitchen cooking them up. I'm not sure what seasoning Highland Park uses, but they even sell it in their location for customers to buy.
I absolutely love the vibe of this place, which is why it's typically the only fish market I support! The staff is both efficient and incredibly friendly. Even during the pandemic, when they faced staffing issues, it was hardly noticeable. The only reason I found out was a note on the door. They clearly understand customer service! Keep up the amazing experience you provide every day!
The most recent visit wasn't as good as the first, but this restaurant is definitely a favorite of mine. I prefer the Redford location over the 8 Mile one because it is less busy and they always take the time to include all the extra touches. Overall, Fresh Fish House is a winner!
I ordered the Orange Roughy Dinner with half a pound of Jumbo Shrimp. The staff was very helpful, and my food was ready in just 20 minutes. It was hot and absolutely delicious! Overall, I had a fantastic experience which reminded me that I need to visit this place more often. Book a table now
The ocean perch at this restaurant is small, flavorless, not cooked with cornmeal, and overcooked. I'm not sure what happened to this place, but they used to be the standard. Now, they are a definite thumbs down when it comes to ocean perch.
During my last visit, the cod was perfect, as it usually is. However, I was disappointed to find out that they no longer offer cod by the dinner; it's now only available by the pound.
The fish I bought was very delicious, but the price was too high for what I paid. The four-piece fish sandwich with hot sauce and two pieces of bread should not be $9 plus tax!
