After receiving a recommendation from a New Zealand Indian friend this week, I couldn't resist checking out this restaurant to see for myself how amazing the food is. Located inside a grocery store is this hidden gem of a local restaurant! The owner was very friendly and happy to add extra chili to my butter chicken, which I ordered along with two Garlic Cheese Naan breads and a delicious mixed pickle mango chutney. Everything was fresh and piping hot - the best way to enjoy it! This was hands down the best Indian food I've had in a long time, and it was also reasonably priced. They even have $12 specials on Mondays and Tuesdays, which would be perfect for my family of 8 who all love Indian...
Thr Freshwater Freindly store really is just that. The store has been under new management this past year and it is clean, fresh, friendly and great news for so many of us... They are cooking their authentic Indian Currys and tasty morsels for us to either dine in or take away. They have put in a lovely little space for table and chairs to relax in the air-conditioned comfort during these hot summer months and regardless of whether you are just having a cool drink or one of their takeaways... you are welcome. It is wonderful what a friendly face in a local store makes to a community. :-) Thanks .
We ordered the Samosa, Dahl, Palak paneer, and garlic cheese naan and we really enjoyed it! Even though they were out of Samosa, they called to offer a substitute or a refund (which I ended up giving as a tip to the delivery driver who was very quick). The food was fresh, hot, and flavorful. The portion sizes were generous and I even had leftovers for lunch today. Perfect for vegetarians. I will definitely be ordering from this takeaway restaurant again.
the best Indian food I had in cairns! great service and freshly cooked delicious curry! the personal always greets customers with a smile whether they go to eat or go for a fast food business. I always come to this place and I never got disappointed. I especially recommend these lazy nights when they don't feel like cooking! thanks young and keep it up!

Owners, Mitty and Deepak are very friendly and efficient. They genuinely care about the customers and make good take away food. Now they have added tables and chairs in the shop where we can sit while waiting for our freshly cooked meal. They also have a lot of variety and good options for Vegetarians and Non- Veg.
It has the basics so if you run out of milk, bread etc it's convenient.The staff are friendly and the store is clean.The downside is that it smells strongly of Indian spices as they sell homemade Indian curries, it's not what you expect from a friendly grocery store.
The best butter chicken in the city! The staff is incredibly friendly and the service is exceptional. I only go to this place for butter chicken.

Great place! Flamed prawns were excellent! Waterfront seating is unbeatable. Menu is very reasonably priced.
