We were staying near to this restaurant every time we walked past it, it was packed, which reflects its popularity although its some way out of the city centre. We had tapas between us adults) which was enough for us. We liked...all the dishes except the cold squid so probably one to avoid (the warm octopus was much better). They have no english menu, only german so make sure you take a dictionary/phrase book with you as some dishes were not straightforward to translate. Its worth knowing that they do not take credit cards, only debit cards or cash. I had reserved a table for dinner for people. We have been given what was clearly a table for and it was not possible to use two of the sides. We could see other real sits table occupied by people...and we had booked!!! Fortunately we were rather than so we managed to squeze in, even if rather uncomfortably. It was extremely loud due to amount of tables crammed in the available space, I could hardly hear my friends. Food is ok even if slightly overpriced for a tapas restaurant in D'dorf. Service is ok. We hurried up to eat and left after min to find a place where we could talk, drink and have dessert sitting comfortable and relaxed. I definitely will not return.
We loved eating out at Frida! The place has a good vibe, is really nicely decorated in Mexican style and serves a very nice selection of tasty dishes and drinks (the cocktails were great For lunch I had a vegetarian salad with some tasty pouches ..filled with vegetables. I think they were called mauwtaschen or something like that! I loved them and my toddler daughter too. For dinner we had tapas. The pulpo a la gallega was great! And my husband had the best Moscow Mule cocktail served like it should, in a copper mug. This place is very well located (in the Unter Bilk) district which is one of the hipest in Düsseldorf. This is for me the best location for breakfast in Düsseldorf! Cosy ambiance, good food at a reasonable price, kind service. Wonderful to eat outside when the weather is good. I strongly recommend!
