The fried catfish po boy at this landlocked deli was surprisingly good. The seafood gumbo was also tasty. The menu offered a nice variety of deli staples and Southern dishes. The atmosphere was slightly more upscale than anticipated for a small town deli, but it was still welcoming. The waitress was very friendly and made sure my coffee cup was always full, which I appreciated. The only downside was the large projection TV above the register, which was a bit overwhelming and distracting.
The pimento cheese at this restaurant is absolutely delicious, and they offer $2 beers by the bottle. Couple that with a great live band and a prime spot on the square, and you have the recipe for a fantastic Friday night in Blakely, Georgia. The service was exceptional, with an employee even coming to clear our table when we started dancing. This place deserves an extra star for their outstanding service.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover a fantastic deli in a small town in south Georgia. The Reuben panini sandwich I ordered was loaded with a generous portion of the leanest corned beef I've ever had. My dining partner opted for the chicken pesto sandwich and also really enjoyed it.
