Ended up stumbling upon this place just doing a Google search, and it had high ratings. I'm glad I gave it a chance. It looked like they were putting together an outdoor seating area, and it was still under construction out there. I thought they might be closed, but they were open. The food was excellent. They had the aunties in the back with the Crown Royal shirts on throwing down in the kitchen!!! Good wings, good baked mac. The candied yams were amazing. The food gets a 5. Bartenders were also great. They were very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, it was a great experience. If you're in the area its definitely worth stopping in to eat some good authentic food.
I heard about this place and wanted to give it a try. I ordered a catfish dinner with greens and yams. When my food was brought to me the person waiting on me showed me what I had,by it being a carry out. Looked good. When I got home and tasted the supposedly cat fish, it tasted like Tilapia. I kept tasting, it tasted just like Tilapia. I don't know of any catfish that taste like Tilapia. Conclusion it was not catfish. I eat catfish all the time and it was not it. I'm disappointed. What if I had been allergic to whatever kind of fish that was
Came in with my grandfather for Saturday brunch and was amazed by the food quality and taste. Although the brunch menu may seem limited the catfish and salmon croquettes were the best I've had. Not bad at all for a first time! we were visiting Detroit for the first time from Little Rock, Arkansas and we heard a lot about Detroit before going and I’m going to say get out and experience things for yourself and get your own review because the service , atmosphere and quality of the food at this establishment truly was amazing! Rita was absolutely GREAT! She made sure we were well taken care of and answered all our questions. The food was EXCELLENT, and the vibes were there. Would DEFINITELY go back and RECOMMEND 100%!
