This is the second time I waited for minutes without being served. At the same time, other people who came later were served immediately. The first time this happened was long ago, before Corona. Then, this place was closed down and only reopened recently,...claiming they had changed their concept. I had the hope that service would be better but obviously, the service has stayed as bad as it was before. We came to the Garage du Pont by bicycle and were told to fill in the corona registration and then take a seat. That's what we did. After that, no reaction from the waitress anymore. We were introduced to this little gem by a local who claimed it served the best curry wurst in Berlin and beyond. Just on the other side of the Bridge of Spies the Garage Du Pont does not disappoint. Be prepared that the presentation of...the plump curry wurst looks a bit odd a bumpy skinless affair pierced with a checkered flag. But is WAS delish. We also tried a chocolate torte and espresso. Cosy restaurant, nicely decorated. The service is very friendly and attentive. The menu, presented on a table, is not large, but the selection is sufficient. All at the table were very satisfied with the taste and orientation of the dishes! The portions are not too large, so you can also create appetizers and desserts. Personally, I like it if the main court isn't so huge. The onion soup is absolutely recommended!
Together with others I had dinner at the restaurant. The staff was welcoming and we had a pleasant time while eating dinner. The food chicken in lemon was a bit dissapointing bacause of the vegetables, I have had better meals here before.
