Ci siamo fermati qui intorno alle 13:00 di ritorno dalla visita al campo. Era fine Luglio una giornata molto calda, i tavoli all'esterno posti all'ombra erano occupati, mentre erano liberi altri tavoli all'esterno posti al sole, ma con ombrelloni chiusi. Abbiamo chiesto alla cameriera se c'era posto all'interno. E' arrivato un signore (presumo il proprietario) che in inglese(un po' duro) ci ha detto che il posto disponibile era all'esterno e che ci avrebbe aperto un'ombrellone. Siamo stati li 10 minuti senza che nè lui nè le cameriere ci rivolgessero la parola e/o ci aprissero l'ombrellone, quindi ce ne siamo andati. Io e le mie figlie abbiamo avuto la sensazione che non ci volessero. Spero...
My wife and I stopped in at Gasthaus Kreuzmühle on the way to visit the Mauthausen Memorial, mostly because it seemed to be the only restaurant open on Mondays. We were certainly happy we did so. The place was lovely, very quaint. The owner greeted...us warmly as did the other diners. All of them seemed to be regulars local, despite the fact that the locality consisted of only a handful of houses. I ordered the Wienerschnitzel and my wife had the sausages and french fries. Both came with a salad. Everything was delicious, especially the schnitzel and the fries. And it was one of the cheapest meals we have had in Austria so far. Definitely worth a visit.
my wife and I stopped in the restaurant kreuzmühle on the way to the mauthausen memorial, especially because it was the only restaurant opened on Monday. we were sure we did. the place was beautiful, very attractive. the owner welcomed...we cordially like the others diner. all seemed to be going as a tribal, although the place consisted only of a handful of houses. I ordered the carving and my wife had the sausages and ridden. both came with an salate. everything was delicious, especially the carvings and the pommes, and it was one of the cheapest meals we had in Austria. in any case worth a visit.
A poca distanza dal Campo di Mathausen abbiamo trovato questo locale, assai semplice, con sette tavoli all'aperto, piatti tipici, prezzo buono e personale cortese.
